First Look at Tom Ford & Makeup Artist Isamaya French “Extrême” Collection

Collaborations have seamlessly shifted from the world of fashion to the beauty industry and now the big brands do not hesitate to cooperate with very creative personalities. Tom Ford and make-up artist, Isamaya French, joined forces and created a limited collection of  20 individual eyeshadows of varying shades and textures – Shadow Extrême – together with coloured mascaras, for those who want to attract attention.

Mr Ford wanted to develop and evolve his makeup collection to introduce an editorial element with bold, graphic, and dramatic colour. I felt like it was the right time to introduce a collection like this because so far it’s been very gorgeous, about skin, so it was time to focus on experimentation,” said Isamaya French.

“When I was working on designing the colours with Mr. Ford, he wanted to develop something that was colourful, editorial and graphic. I think people are often intimidated to use colour, so the concept with these shades is that they all have a metallic quality, because that slightly desaturates the colour,” Isamaya continued. “So it feels a lot more wearable, it’s a soft, beautiful texture. I was so pleased with how we found a way to make colour super wearable.”

Is Tom Ford Replacing Frida Giannini at Gucci?

www.astairwaytofashion.com
Frida Giannini

Gucci‘s creative designer Frida Giannini has left the fashion house one month before expected after a new chief executive officer took the reigns of the label. It is about Marco Bizzari, he started as CEO this month replacing Patrizio di Marco, former CEO of Gucci and Frida’s partner.  “I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding contribution that Frida Giannini has made to Gucci’s legacy during her nine-year tenure as creative director,” Bizzarri said.

The men’s and women’s shows will be presented as planned on January 19 and February 25, but for the fashion watchers Frida Giannini won’t show up to take her final round of applause.

Tom Ford

Rumours about Frida’s potential substitutes have already started to circulate, and first up is Alessandro Michele, currently the head accessories designer of the Italian label. Others presume a comeback of Tom Ford, and wish it i guess, for the designer, after ruling the fashion house for a decade ( 1994-2004), defined an era for Gucci and created the empire that is today. You can’t go wrong with Tom Ford in charge at Gucci, but having already a personal label worth nearly a billion pounds, marrying his partner Richard Buckley and having Alexander, their two-year-old son, i wonder if he would even say yes to a project of this scale. But when it comes to Tom Ford anything is possible.

HOT BUY – Tom Ford’s Mini Lipsticks for Holidays

www.astairwaytofashion.com
Lips & Boys lipsticks campaign by Tom Ford

For the Holidays Tom Ford prepared a fabulous limited collection of 50 mini lipsticks, ideal to throw in your clutch on New Year’s Eve. There are 50 shades to choose from, all caring a male’s name because “I love the idea of a lipstick with a man’s name… why stick with just one when you can have several?” – said Tom.

I’ve always loved that masculine-feminine thing,” the designer said, noting that most of his fragrances are unisex. Obviously I’m not expecting a lot of men to wear the lipsticks, but I liked the concept. I love seeing a woman in a man’s suit. Why not have a lipstick named after a man? I could be perverse — and if I were still drinking a lot I’d be perverse, but I’m now a little more tame — but I’m not going to go there.” Ladies, for Tom Ford“nothing is more important than perfect lips. They are the central point of every face and have the power to define a women’s whole look.”

All The Glamour Of The World Under One Roof – The Met Gala 2014

The grand entrance at The Meta Gala 2014 was made by Sarah Jessica Parker in a dreamy black and ivory Oscar de la Renta gown, followed by Dita Von Teese dressed in Zac Posen. Of course there were so many stylish looks, Charles James–worthy, to say the least. There were gowns that combined a sense of drama with a romantic edge, with floral prints like Tabitha Simmons and Giovanna Battaglia’s petal-sprigged Dolce & Gabbana dresses.

Some of the guests conformed into the formal white-tie dress code for the night: Michelle Williams‘ chic Louis Vuitton dress, or Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Elizabeth Olsen’s minidresses. Men, we don’t get a lot of variation. It’s nice to get to do something outside the norm. It’s different, I like it.”” John Legend sad in a Ralph Lauren look. “This dress code should be mandatory for most events,” told Johnny Depp also wearing a Ralph Lauren outfit, while Tom Ford, who is already on the trend, declared: “Actually, we do live in London. And in June we sometimes dress in white tie”, said the designer.

Tom Ford Said The Magical Words – “I DO!” – After 27 Years Of Relationship

www.astairwaytofashion.com
Tom Ford and Richard Buckley

Discreet, in an absolute normality, Tom Ford revealed yesterday in an interview at the Apple Store on Regent Street in London his new marital status. ” We got married , which is great,” he said while showing off his wedding ring during the talk organized by Lady Kinvara Balfour and Vanity Fair . I know that was just made legal in the UK which is great; we were married in the States he explains about his relationship with journalist Richard Buckley, whom he met in 1986 when he was still editor of Women’s Wear Daily. “I lost so many friends in college – I would say more than half of my closest friends. Richard, my partner of 27 years, had also gone through something also quite tough in his life. We are now married which is nice” – added the designer.

The couple welcomed their first son, Alexander “Jack” Buckley John Ford, in 2012 and they live in London just a few blocks from the offices of Tom Ford in Street Howick Place.

About Richard Buckley he told WWD: “I went to a fashion show and this silver-haired guy was staring at me with these piercing water-blue eyes. “It scared me because I absolutely saw and knew my entire future.”

On the current controversy about the practices in fashion companies, said : ” I think the problem today is that young people leave school and believe they should immediately become stars in this world you can make a porno video and be world-famous . . yeah. But I think anyone has to start as an intern, you have to clean floors, pick up pins, errands that’s how you learn . “
