Milan, the world’s fashion capital hosts Prada’s new project, a 60 meters tower for the art treasure of Miuccia Prada. Three years after the opening of Prada Fondazione, Prada group finally works in full force thanks to the opening of the new space. The first guests already visited the building in February and Miuccia Prada presented her Autumn/Winter collection here. The former distillery dated back in 1920s, runed by Rem Koolhaas, took Prada’s space to the rank of the most interesting cultural space of Milan. Nine floors filled with surprises, or, as Koolhaas himself says, “a radical variety within the same space.” The layout of the floors alternates from rectangular to trapezoidal, each floor is higher than the previous one (the ceilings on the first floor have a height of 2.7 meters, and at the last one they have 8 meters already) and the atmospheric lighting is provided by panoramic windows. Simply beautiful!
Marchesi was founded in 1824 and is one of the most famous commercial activity in Milan. Situated in a historic building, the layout of which had not been changed, Prada, the majority shareholder, would have paid 8 million euro for it. The project was created by architect Roberto Bacciocchi, who built it around the main element of any pastry – sweets.
How closely Miuccia Prada followed the implementation of the project can be seen in every detail: chairs in the style of the sixties, silk wallpaper with jacquard patterns similar to Miu Miu prints, the 120 square meters of shop is covered in dark brown marble, with marble counter and shelves in cherry wood and glass, a large mirror and of course the benches where a triumph.
The new bakery of via Montenapoleone will offer two new formulas for a cream with dark chocolate and hazelnuts without sugar, all the desserts being prepared daily on the spot. Cakes, pralines, biscuits and croissants – all served the Prada way! Sweeeeeeeet!
At the end of February there will be a new model of sneakers in Prada stores – studded with crystals, hardly useful to go out to jog or to the gym, but, on the street you are sure to become the most noticeable woman. There are two versions of the retro spirit sneakers, both embroidered with beads and crystals, based on the mood of the current cruise collection. We are already in queue!
The classic aviator sunglasses encountered a multitude of interpretations that help you stay cool with any outfit – coloured and mirrored lenses are present in the new collections of the biggest designers, from Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane, Prada, Lanvin, the world-famous Ray-Ban, and others. Check them out in the selection below!
On Saturday, in Milan, kicked off the Men’s Fashion Week for Spring 2015, and for the weekend we were able to see the shows of Dolce & Gabbana, Ermenegildo Zegna, Prada, Missoni, Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta, Moncler Gamme Bleu, Calvin Klein Collection, and more than a dozen big-name designers. Aside from the new men’s collections, in which many brands have shown rather curious female outputs, we meet again the heroines of the street style chronicles – the most successful outfits are here in front of you.
At the Milan fashion week Prada showed a luxurious collection, inspired by the German avant-garde art and the era of the 70s – from flowing silk dresses, to voluminous coats with graphic prints and colored Mongolian sheep fur – made a good impression on many fashion editors and received a positive feedback. The accessories are too difficult to ignore, because the Prada bag is the eternal object of desire of all girls .
The collection includes Prada‘s classic models and some brand new ones. Coral, gold and silver clutches are ideal for an evening out , and roomy bags in gray, sand, burgundy and purple shades are designed especially for work or for city walks. Here are the most spectacular colors and patterns.
The main event of the month – The Cannes Film Festival – reached its fifth day. The guests shined on the red carpet in gowns chosen straight from the Fashion Week runways, while others were designed especially for the event – Monica Bellucci came in a bright Dolce & Gabbana dress, Hilary Swank in Atelier Versace, Sofia Coppola in Valentino. Check out the dresses that made an impression below. One of my favourite look is Natasha Poly’s airy black lace and tulle dress, from Oscar de la Renta Spring/Summer 2014 collection.
To complete a cool outfit but, most of all, to protect your eyes from the UV rays, you can do it with style rather you choose a more classic frame or go for a particular one – they are designed to protect your sight and to add a bit of glamour and personality to your look. Here is a selection for this summer!
