Fashionable From An Early Age – Margherita Missoni’s Baby Line Is Here – Super Cute & Affordable

www.astairwaytofashion.com
Margherita Missoni

As we were letting you know in a previous post Margherita Missoni launched into childerenswear – the presentation of Margherita’s first collection took place in Paris, during Paris Fashion Week, and important fashion names, like Miroslava Duma, came to congratulate the girl for her successful idea to enrich the family business. The little fashionistas – for boys from 6 months to 2 years, and girls from 6 months to 10 years – have now charming dresses with ruffles in natural colours, comfy skirts with elastic belts, and funny pants that will not hamper the movement. The logo of the brand is a smiling flower, inspiration that came from Margherita’s name – it is also the name of the collection – that in Italian means daisy.

The collection is available on Yoox.com, and the prices are super affordable, ranging between 24,00 and 59,00 .

Sonia Rykiel RTW Spring 2015 Accessories Collection

Paris fashion week has been marked by the arrival of Sonia Rykiel‘s promising show. Julie de Libran debut collection for the house was definitely a success – “My mother wore it a lot, so this felt like coming back to her closet a little bit,” de Libran said about the brand. “There are so many codes, and there’s such a nice heritage, which I’m lucky to be able to take from and reinvent, to kind of close the archive, and just go by my selective memory.” See the best accessories de Libran designed for RTW Spring 2015 season.

New Era – Louis Vuitton Fondation Is Officially Opening

www.astairwaytofashion.com
Louis Vuitton Building

The stunning glass and metal building, in the centre of the Botanical Garden, in the Northen part of Bois de Boulogne, Paris, appeared for the first time in press in June, this year. American architect Frank Gehry created it for Louis Vuitton – a project entitled to support contemporary art to a new level, and a new home for the work of contemporary artists was a logical continuation of the plan. An impressive structure whose inside we were only able to see during the recent Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2015 show – giant transparent screens were models’ faces appeared to deliver a welcome monologue, describing the Foundation as a “ship surrounded by a woodland” and ending it with, “the journey starts here”. It all felt eerily sci-fi.

Frank Gehry’s work

However, now the museum is wide open and the first exhibitions are on display with the key, of course, being the work of Frank Gehry – one of the most prominent contemporary artists. October 28, 2014 there will be held a presentation of the Chinese pianist, Lang Lang, and from 6 to 14 November there will be eight retrospective concerts of the German band Kraftwerk, the pioneers of electronic music.

The Louis Vuitton Fondation, a miracle of intelligence combined with creativity and technology – a major contemporary monument to Paris’s long list of historic architecture.

Creative Designer Christoph Lemaire Leaves Hermès

www.astairwaytofashion.com
Designer Christoph Lemaire

The news of Christoph Lemaire’s departure – the creative designer of Hermès – came this morning, July 21, from the CEO of the house, Axel Dumas. Lemaire decided to leave the prestigious fashion house, after four years of collaboration, and his last collection for Hermès will be presented in October, during the Paris fashion week, for the Spring/Summer 2015 season. He took over from Jean Paul Gaultier, designer at Hermes for seven years before Lemaire – behind his decision stands the designer’s desire to focus on his own label – “My own label is growing in an important way, and now I really want and need to dedicate myself to it fully.”

“Working for Hermès has been a great pleasure: a profoundly enriching experience on both human and professional levels. I am proud of what we have built together,” said Christophe Lemaire when he announced his departure to the media.

I am very grateful to Christophe for the passion with which he has addressed and enriched the expression of our house in women’s ready-to-wear,” says Axel Dumas, the CEO of Hermès. “Under his artistic direction the métier has renewed its aesthetic and produced very satisfactory financial results. I wish him the greatest success with his own label, which is so close to his heart.”

Remains to be seen who will take his place at Hermès.

Street Style at the Couture Shows in Paris ( part 3 )

The last day of couture met a rainy Paris, the trendiest guests had to come to the shows on a moody weather – a fateful companion lately of our fashionistas – but one with another, nothing was ruined, nor the cheerful spirits or the glamorous outfits. Valentino and Viktor & Rolf ended the third and last day of couture shows, and the closure of the day had more style than the previous ones, some of the guests arriving in couture themselves – a high concentration of fashion, before you, in the pictures below.

Between cocktails and chitchats, at Apicius restaurant, the guests were able to admire the precious pieces of jewellery on the models present at the event. The beautiful gems glowed on stars like Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the testimonial of the brand, aside Anna Dello Russo, Jared Leto, Olivia Palermo. The main role has been assigned to the colourful gems, of highest purity.
