The one I want to bring to your attention is “China: Through The Looking Glass“, featuring haute couture designs inspired by the magical Chinese tradition, sculptures and a range of films. The 62-year-old French designer, Jean Paul Gaultier, announced that the house will cease to produce ready-to-wear clothes and accessories, and will focus on the Haute Couture line. The couture shows in Paris attract the most glamorous of the spectators – the chicest crowd ever occupy the front row seats of the shows. People like Sean Penn and Charlize Theron, were spotted at the Versace show, aside Emma Watson and Marion Cotillard. The high fashion week started Monday 7, in Paris – a week where haute-couture is at its best, with first shows of magnificent Christian Dior and Giambattista Valli. The guests came back to Paris after only a week since the Men’s shows ended, to cheer up the streets of the city with their fabulous outfits. Here are the picture of the first day of shows.

Swarovski is upping its bling factor in Asia. The crystal producer held its first Runway Rocks exhibit and fashion show on Thursday in Shanghai. The show and exhibition featured specially commissioned pieces from nine regional and international designers. The designers incorporated crystals and gems from Swarovski to create elaborate designs that mixed art with haute couture. This is the first co-branding initiative Atelier Swarovski has carried out with a fashion label, and it is quite a breakthrough in terms of product development for the Austrian crystal giant.
