Italian shoe label Giuseppe Zanotti is celebrating its 20th year by creating four capsule collection, all gold, inspired by his iconic shoes over the years. The first one to be unveiled, on June 15, is “Jewel ” featuring six pairs of gold flat sandals, with a piece of jewellery in the centre for most of them, being a revisited collection created previously for the Kanye West Spring/Summer 2012 runaway. Feminine and gorgeous as every shoe designed by the brand, “Jewel ” collection will follow in February 2015 ” Disco ” collection, in September by ” Rock’n Roll ” and November ” Black Stilettos “.
Zanotti does not necessarily follow the trends in fashion and still his creation never go out of style. About that the designer says : ” Trends are dangerous; you will fail if you design for them. You cannot follow the work of others. I have my own DNA, my own formula. I always stay true to myself and to the brand.“
Elle proposed to Giuseppe Zanotti to celebrate by editing a coffee table book about the brand’s shoes but he preferred to create these four capsule collections. ” To love shoes is to love problems,” stated Zanotti to Elle. ” Every season starting a new collection is my greatest challenge. The blank slate in front of me, starting the process all over again, there is no greater challenge. Every season I absorb everything around me, the people I see on the street, the discos, the art, the music, and the energy of places from my travels. I mix all of this together and then I begin to create.”
” When I design shoes it is not for one person or one age group. There is never a specific shoe designed for a specific woman.”
Pearls are not dull anymore – with the wedding fashion shows upon us, designers are advising to put aside all the superstitions about pearls and to dare to wear them as a bride – and not only – for the new pearls jewellery have taken a new turn. Inspired by the tribal style they became a must-have of the season. Here is a selection of contemporary earrings that any girl can wear.
The prettiest dress in the world – after the bride gets this task out of her mind – needs to be combined with super special accessories that identify a specific style and synthesize the personality of the bride. Brides should devote some time to make the decision as their role is essential and there are options for all tastes and situations. For example, when choosing jewelry, we can put aside the superstitions and let the pearls go back to the scene to put a classic and very romantic spot to any bridal styling, either through earrings, necklaces and even worthy of a princess crowns. For those who prefer to cling to the traditions, diamonds and sapphires shine brightly on pieces with a vintage touch – and that’s another option.
Also the veil and jewellery have been reinvented – hats are adorned with flowers and even floral tiaras can be spotted. The catwalks opened up new horizons this season in the field of bridal shoes with proposals as striking lace ankle boots with gold or pink sandals to give a touch of color to balance the white look.
Gold – is the new trend – spotted at Pucci’s Fall show and at Dior SS14 show – used in a more dramatic way, to enhance the look – if it’s used either on your lips and eyes or just if one wants to get a golden bronzed skin. Beautiful Damaris Lewis lensed by Kristiina Wilson, guides us through this golden story.
“If you don’t have gold leaf laying around, experimenting with the latest in metalicized lip colors can create just as enticing a look. Gold is timeless” says makeup artist, Mary Irwin “the ancient Egyptians viewed it as the symbol of eternal life. From ancient Crete to the runways of today, gold has always been an essential part of fashion.”
