First Look at Tom Ford & Makeup Artist Isamaya French “Extrême” Collection

Collaborations have seamlessly shifted from the world of fashion to the beauty industry and now the big brands do not hesitate to cooperate with very creative personalities. Tom Ford and make-up artist, Isamaya French, joined forces and created a limited collection of  20 individual eyeshadows of varying shades and textures – Shadow Extrême – together with coloured mascaras, for those who want to attract attention.

Mr Ford wanted to develop and evolve his makeup collection to introduce an editorial element with bold, graphic, and dramatic colour. I felt like it was the right time to introduce a collection like this because so far it’s been very gorgeous, about skin, so it was time to focus on experimentation,” said Isamaya French.

“When I was working on designing the colours with Mr. Ford, he wanted to develop something that was colourful, editorial and graphic. I think people are often intimidated to use colour, so the concept with these shades is that they all have a metallic quality, because that slightly desaturates the colour,” Isamaya continued. “So it feels a lot more wearable, it’s a soft, beautiful texture. I was so pleased with how we found a way to make colour super wearable.”

This was never going to be just another designer collaboration, where you do five new lipstick shades. There was a lot of time spent talking about the idea of using products or textures that you normally would associate with certain parts of the face, in different ways,” Erdem explains. These fashion icons got to choose the style – colours and materials – featuring their own personal taste for the house’s 3baguette handbag, launched last year by Fendi. The accessories will be unveiled on February 13, at an exclusive cocktail party hosted at the Madison Avenue store by Karl Lagerfeld, Silvia Venturini Fendi and chairman Pietro Beccari. The new bags will be sold on an auction site, set to launch later this month, and they will be on display in the store until March 13
